1. Who We Are

TipsyText ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered text generation service available at tipsytext.com. We help you write roasts, wedding toasts, eulogies, and messages for difficult conversations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google OAuth. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Generated content: The text inputs you provide and the AI-generated outputs are stored so we can show you your message history and enable sharing features.

Usage data: We track how many generations you use per day to enforce free-tier limits. This includes timestamps and category selections.

Payment information: If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Dodo Payments. We do not receive or store your card details — only your subscription status and plan.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To generate AI text using the inputs you provide
• To enforce free-tier daily limits and manage Pro subscriptions
• To display your message history in your dashboard
• To enable sharing features when you choose to share generated content
• To improve our service and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your inputs to train AI models.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with the following third parties who may process your data:

• Google OAuth — for authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• OpenRouter / Mistral AI — your text inputs are sent to AI providers to generate responses. These providers process inputs per their own privacy policies.
• Dodo Payments — for Pro subscription billing. Subject to Dodo Payments' Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare R2 — for image storage if you upload images.
• MongoDB — for database storage of your account and generation history.

5. Cookies & Sessions

We use session cookies to keep you logged in after authenticating with Google. These are HTTP-only cookies and are required for the service to function. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

Free-tier users: message history is retained for 30 days. Pro users: message history is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

8. Children's Privacy

TipsyText is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of TipsyText after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
